ABOUT ME
FROM PARTY LIFE TO SOBER LIVING

I’m a keynote speaker, attorney, and author based in Omaha, Nebraska, where I live with my wife, our four kids, and three very loud wiener dogs. Outside of work, I enjoy golfing, traveling, and passionately cheering — and occasionally suffering — as a fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes.

From the outside, my life looked great: a successful career, a loving family, and a good home. But behind the scenes, I struggled for years with my relationship with alcohol. I loved being social, yet too often I drank more than I intended, leading to regret, embarrassment, and the exhausting cycle of promising myself it wouldn’t happen again.

For six years, I tried every moderation strategy imaginable, hoping to “drink like a normal person.” Some worked temporarily, but all of them felt draining. By 2019, I was tired of the constant mental battle. After a pivotal conversation with my wife, I made the decision to stop drinking.

At first, sobriety felt intimidating. I worried life without alcohol would feel limiting or dull. Instead, I found the opposite. Giving up alcohol brought greater clarity, deeper connection, and a level of peace and gratitude I had never experienced before. It led me to a richer, more fulfilling life than I ever thought possible.
